Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud says Ethiopia can access Somalia’s ports, provided it negotiates with Mogadishu first.

Mohamud said Ethiopian officials had yet to come to Mogadishu to discuss access to sea ports, according to Al Jazeera.

His comments set out Somalia’s stated position on access: negotiations with the Somali government are required. The report does not identify which ports are involved.

It also provides no response from Ethiopia and gives no details about when talks might take place.
