WEEK IN PICTURES

FRANCE 24’s weekly photo review published on 4 October brings together events from across the week, including a Flydubai flight diverted to Saudi Arabia, student protests in France and flooding in Bangkok.

According to FRANCE 24, the flight was diverted after an onboard attack by a crew member. The review offers little detail about the incident or the emergency landing. Passengers were pictured arriving at Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv on 30 September.

In Toulouse, students protested over learning conditions on 1 October. One demonstrator carried a placard asking whether an 8am-to-6pm school day was “high school or custody”.

A photo from Bangkok showed people wading through a flooded street after heavy rain on 28 September. The review also included images from Kyiv, Gaza, Brazil, the United States, Spain and Florida.

The roundup records the settings and dates attached to its images, but provides limited context on the circumstances behind many of the events.
