Sky Sports to broadcast 1,500 football matches across four major leagues
The broadcaster has confirmed its coverage slate for the upcoming season, introducing new digital features to streamline viewing for both subscribers and casual audiences.

Sky Sports has detailed its broadcasting plans for the new football season, confirming it will air 1,500 matches across the Premier League, the English Football League (EFL), the Scottish Premiership, and the Women’s Super League (WSL). The announcement outlines the broadcaster’s strategy to serve both existing Sky customers and non-subscribers through a combination of traditional television channels and digital streaming options.
For viewers without a full Sky subscription, the broadcaster has emphasised the availability of flexible access points. Non-Sky customers can stream live games using a NOW Day pass or a cancel-anytime Month pass, while Sky subscribers can access matches via TV channels or the free Sky Sports app. This approach aims to capture a wider audience by offering low-commitment entry points for those who do not wish to enter into long-term contracts.
A significant addition to the viewing experience is the introduction of a feature called 'Your Multiview', available on Sky Glass, Sky Stream, and Sky Q devices. This tool allows fans to watch up to four live events simultaneously on a single screen, enabling them to monitor multiple football matches or other sports such as Formula 1, cricket, and rugby without switching channels. Viewers can adjust the on-screen layout, select specific audio, and expand any event to full screen as required.
The Sky Sports app has also been updated with a new 'Moments' feed, designed to provide a personalised stream of vertical videos. This feature aggregates live clips, highlights, analysis, and interviews tailored to the user’s favourite teams and competitions. The broadcaster describes the app as the primary hub for free highlights and in-game clips, particularly for Premier League and WSL fixtures, which are presented in a mobile-first format.
Extended highlights for all Premier League, EFL, Scottish Premiership, and WSL games will be published after full-time, ensuring that content remains accessible beyond the live broadcast window. The announcement notes that the new season marks a return to the traditional format of the sport, explicitly stating that there will be no hydration breaks or half-time shows.
By integrating these digital tools with its extensive live coverage, Sky Sports is positioning itself as the central platform for football consumption this season. The combination of multi-screen viewing capabilities and personalised content feeds reflects a broader industry trend towards offering granular control over the viewing experience.
