Shure’s MV6 Gen 2 adds adjustable audio controls
The USB microphone is available from 30 September for $169, with a white finish and expanded controls through Shure’s free Motiv app.
Shure has announced the MV6 Gen 2 USB microphone, adding more control over its automated audio features and a white finish. It is available from 30 September for $169.
The microphone builds on the original MV6’s denoising and automatic volume levelling. Users can adjust voice levels and how quickly the microphone responds to volume changes, as well as set how much background noise the denoiser picks up.
Shure’s free Motiv app also offers customisable EQ and presets for speech, singing and instruments. The microphone connects to Mac, PC and Android through USB-C, and is MFi-certified for use with iPhone and iPad.
Other features include a two-metre USB-C cable, a base designed to minimise vibration, an option to mount the microphone on a boom arm, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a mute button.
Engadget describes the $169 microphone as a straightforward alternative to Logitech’s recently announced Yeti 2. Its report does not specify which Yeti 2 configuration or price it uses for the comparison.
