A secret documentary about Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes surprise-premiered at the Telluride Film Festival, where audiences were reportedly kept unaware of the film’s identity until the screening began.
The 650-seat audience had its phones locked away and was told only that the film ran for nearly three hours, had not previously been screened and that its principal creators would attend, according to reporting cited by TechCrunch.
“You Can See Everything”, co-directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, is reportedly based on extensive access to Holmes and her husband, Billy Evans, during the 34 days before Holmes reported to federal prison in May 2023.
Holmes began serving an 11-year sentence after being convicted of defrauding investors over Theranos’s blood-testing technology. Her appeals were rejected in February 2025, while a petition asking President Trump to commute her sentence remains pending.
Early accounts also say Fielder lived in the couple’s guest house during filming. The film’s reported contents include the involvement of an unnamed A-list actress, though further details have not been disclosed.
A24 plans to release “You Can See Everything” in October, with no precise release date announced.
