Seahawks top Prisco’s opening 2026 NFL power rankings
CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco ranks Seattle first and backs Jacksonville and Dallas to meet in the Super Bowl.

Pete Prisco has placed the Seattle Seahawks at the top of his opening 2026 NFL Power Rankings, with the Los Angeles Rams second and the Jacksonville Jaguars third.
Prisco ranked the Dallas Cowboys fifth and selected them, alongside the Jaguars, as his teams to reach the Super Bowl. He said Jacksonville’s 13-win season last year supported his view that the team could improve further.
The Rams enter the rankings as the prominent pre-season title favourites, according to Prisco, but he stopped short of selecting them for the Super Bowl. He cited the strength of their division and the difficulty of sustaining an early consensus around a championship contender.
Prisco said the Cowboys could improve defensively under coordinator Christian Parker and with new personnel. The ranking places Dallas behind the Seahawks, Rams, Jaguars and one other team not identified in the source.
The Miami Dolphins sit last in Prisco’s rankings. He described the season as one focused on rebuilding and said four wins would represent a successful first campaign for new coach Jeff Hafley.
CBS Sports’ rankings are an early assessment rather than a definitive forecast. Prisco noted that Week 1 power rankings often look very different by the end of the season.
