Seahawks project 2026 roster as 38 cuts loom before August deadline
Yahoo Sports reports on the Seattle Seahawks’ projected 53-man squad, highlighting key additions and the impending roster reduction ahead of the final cutdown.

The Seattle Seahawks have concluded their Organized Team Activities and released a preliminary projection for their 53-man roster for the 2026 National Football League season. With 91 players currently under contract, the organisation faces the administrative task of reducing the squad by at least 38 individuals to comply with the active roster limit. This reduction must be completed before the final cutdown scheduled for Sunday, 30 August.
The projection, originally published by Yahoo Sports via Seahawks Wire, outlines specific personnel for each position group. The wide receiver unit features six players, including Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Rashid Shaheed, Tory Horton Jr., Jake Bobo, and Emmanuel Henderson Jr. Notably, veteran Cooper Kupp is listed among the projected receivers, signalling a significant addition to the offensive receiving corps for the upcoming campaign.
On the offensive line, the projected roster includes ten players: Charles Cross, Grey Zabel, Jalen Sundell, Anthony Bradford, Abraham Lucas, Josh Jones, Christian Haynes, Olu Oluwatimi, Beau Stephens, and Amari Kight. The backfield is projected to consist of four running backs—George Holani, Jadarian Price, Emanuel Wilson, and Kenny McIntosh—alongside two fullbacks, Brady Russell and Robbie Ouzts.
Tight ends are projected to include AJ Barner, Elijah Arroyo, Eric Saubert, and Nick Kallerup. The defensive line unit is listed with nine players, featuring Leonard Williams, Byron Murphy II, Jarran Reed, Rylie Mills, Derick Hall, Uchenna Nwosu, and Dante Fowler Jr. DeMarcus Lawrence is also included in this group, adding depth to the defensive front.
The linebacker corps is projected to comprise four players: Ernest Jones IV, Drake Thomas, Tyrice Knight, and Chazz Surratt. The defensive back group is the largest projected unit with nine players: Devon Witherspoon, Julian Love, Nick Emmanwori, Josh Jobe, Julian Neal, Ty Okada, Bud Clark, Nehemiah Pritchett, and Rodney Thomas II. The team must finalise these selections to build their practice squad by the end of August.
