Samsung extends One UI 9 across Galaxy S26 series
The update brings foldable-origin features, AI tools, improved translation and expanded security protections to Samsung’s latest slate-style phones.

Samsung is rolling out One UI 9 to the Galaxy S26, S26+, S26 Ultra and Galaxy S26 FE, extending features that first appeared on its latest foldable devices.
The update includes My FanCam, which can automatically crop video to keep a selected person in focus as they move. Samsung’s foldables began shipping with One UI 9 a little over a month before the update reached the Galaxy S26 series, according to Engadget.
One UI 9 also adds editable generative cards to Now Brief and context-based suggestions through Now Nudge. Samsung says Now Nudge can use personal context from across the Galaxy ecosystem, including to help bring reservation details into a text conversation.
Interpreter gains Thread View to make translated conversations easier to follow, while Conversation Mode translations are described as faster. Voice Recorder summaries are presented with headings and tables, and Document Scan is improved for curved pages and folded corners.
The update adds Security Brief, which provides malware alerts and flags other security issues, along with Privacy Alerts. Scam call detection is also expanding to Japan, Canada and India. Regional availability and whether the rollout is staged were not specified.
