Roadlesstravelled set for chase debut at Bangor-on-Dee
The seven-year-old returns to obstacles after nearly four months away as Sky Sports Racing schedules six live races from 4.38pm.
Roadlesstravelled is scheduled to make his chase debut in the John Hewitt Memorial Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase at Bangor-on-Dee, returning to obstacles after a break of nearly four months.
The seven-year-old won his first three hurdle starts, including a Grade Two novice hurdle in 2024, and had previously won an Irish point-to-point. His subsequent form declined, including a pull-up in the Formby Novices’ Hurdle in December 2024, before he spent time racing on the Flat.
Sky Sports said Roadlesstravelled had raced too keenly on his most recent Flat start. The report also noted that his prospects remain dependent on whether he returns in suitable condition, with his chase debut representing a change in discipline and a test of his current form.
Captain Cool is described as the most experienced chaser in the field and holds a BHA rating of 131. Sky Sports also identifies Krak and Ice In The Veins among the horses with the potential to make the contest competitive.
Elsewhere on the programme, Hidden Fortune heads the Paul Ferguson’s Jumper To Follow Novices’ Hurdle, while San Giorgio and Master Man are scheduled to meet in the Listed Criterium de Lyon. Six races are scheduled for live coverage on Sky Sports Racing from 4.38pm, with meetings at Auteuil and Lyon-Parilly also included.
