Rich Paul urges Warriors to consider stake-based deal for Stephen Curry
Curry wants to finish his career with Golden State, while agent Rich Paul says profit-sharing or stock options could better reflect the guard’s impact.

Stephen Curry has reiterated that he wants to remain with the Golden State Warriors for the rest of his career, but discussions over his next contract remain unresolved.
Rich Paul, identified by Yahoo Sports as LeBron James’s agent, said the Warriors should consider a deal that includes profit-sharing or stock options. Paul argued that Curry’s contribution to the franchise warrants an arrangement beyond a standard playing contract.
Speaking with analyst Max Kellerman, Paul compared the proposal with equity and stock arrangements available to senior executives at major companies. No stake-based plan or new Warriors offer has been confirmed.
Curry said contract discussions would take place “at the right time” and should not distract from preparations for the season. He said he was confident he would remain with Golden State for the rest of his career.
The Warriors are largely retaining the roster that reached last season’s play-in tournament, with rookie Yaxel Lendeborg added. Jimmy Butler is also expected to return after missing the second half of last season with a season-ending injury.
