Rhyne Howard breaks WNBA single-season three-point record

Atlanta Dream wing Rhyne Howard has established a new benchmark in the Women’s National Basketball Association, hitting her 129th three-pointer of the season during Thursday’s match against the Connecticut Sun. The shot, which came with 6:45 remaining in the game, gave Howard sole possession of the WNBA single-season record for three-pointers made.

Prior to the contest, Howard was level with Sabrina Ionescu at 128 three-pointers. However, the path to the record was not immediate; Howard missed her first eight attempts from beyond the arc before finally connecting to break the tie.
