Reed to miss season after neck injury, Packers coach says

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed will miss the rest of the season and undergo neck surgery after an injury against the New York Jets, coach Matt LaFleur said on Wednesday.
LaFleur said Reed had told him he would need surgery. No date for the procedure or recovery timeline was provided.
The injury came on Green Bay’s second offensive play in the Week 2 game at MetLife Stadium. Reed was taken to hospital on a backboard and stayed overnight for evaluation.
LaFleur said he understood the injury was not career-threatening, while adding Reed would be out for a significant time. No specific diagnosis or long-term prognosis was reported.
The Packers selected Reed in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. With him sidelined, Christian Watson, Matthew Golden, Skyy Moore and tight end Tucker Kraft could take on more passing opportunities.
