Razaullah’s explosive debut revives Pakistan’s hopes at Edgbaston
Pakistan reached 439-9 on day three, leaving England needing 130 runs on Saturday to complete a 3-0 series win.
Pakistan mounted a late resistance against England in the third Test at Edgbaston, reaching 439-9 in their second innings and taking a 130-run lead.
Debutant fast bowler Razaullah led the fightback with 81 from 63 balls, hitting nine sixes and four fours. He had earlier taken four wickets in England’s first innings.
Razaullah and Mohammad Abbas added 121 for the ninth wicket, lifting Pakistan from 318-8. Abbas made 42 before the partnership ended, while Pakistan’s recovery followed earlier contributions from Shan Masood, who scored 95, and captain Babar Azam, who made 76.
England had dismissed Pakistan for 133 in the first innings before making 453. The hosts lead the three-Test series 2-0 after winning the opening match by an innings and 103 runs and the second by 194 runs.
England will return on Saturday needing 130 runs to secure a 3-0 series result. Pakistan made four changes for the match after releasing seven players and dismissing head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and assistant Umar Gul.
