Raiders carry opening-week momentum into Chargers clash
Las Vegas arrives at SoFi Stadium with a 1–0 record, while the Chargers are seeking to recover from a flat opening loss to Arizona.
The Las Vegas Raiders are scheduled to visit the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on 20 September, with the game listed for 4:05 p.m. ET. The Raiders enter NFL Week 2 after beating Miami 27–13, while the Chargers are 0–1 following a 26–14 loss to Arizona.
Las Vegas established its defensive credentials in the opener, recording five sacks and an interception while allowing 13 points. Kirk Cousins also completed 21 of 30 passes for 160 yards and three touchdowns, although he threw two interceptions.
The Chargers’ opening performance exposed problems in sustaining drives. Justin Herbert threw for 209 yards and a touchdown, but Los Angeles scored 14 points, converted two of eight third downs and committed two turnovers.
FOX Sports identifies Herbert, Cousins and Raiders pass-rusher Maxx Crosby as central figures in the matchup. Herbert was sacked three times against Arizona, while the Chargers recorded only one sack and no interceptions. Las Vegas did not allow a sack in its opener.
The availability of Chargers receiver McConkey remains unsettled after a rib injury. He had five catches for 82 yards and a touchdown against Arizona, but his status is described as day to day.
