Jets host Packers in early NFL test after contrasting Week 1 results
New York enter at 1–0 after beating Tennessee, while Green Bay seek a response to their 39–22 loss to Minnesota.
The New York Jets will host the Green Bay Packers at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, in an NFL Week 2 matchup scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
The Jets enter the game at 1–0 after a 23–10 win over the Tennessee Titans. Green Bay are 0–1 following a 39–22 defeat by the Minnesota Vikings, in which their offensive-line protection deteriorated in the second half.
New York are seeking their first 2–0 start since 2015. Their defence recorded three sacks against Tennessee, while quarterback Geno Smith was hit once.
The game will test whether the Jets’ upgraded defence can contain a stronger opponent and whether the Packers can address the protection problems exposed in Week 1. The matchup also gives Green Bay an opportunity to recover from its opening-round defeat.
Green Bay are listed as 3.5-point favourites, with the total points line at 44.5, according to the CBS Sports betting preview. A model cited by CBS Sports rates the Over as achievable in 60 per cent of simulations.
