Racing coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda is considering changes to his defence ahead of the club’s crucial match against Sarmiento de Junín, with injuries narrowing his available options.

Juan Barinaga has been ruled out with a muscle injury, while Matías Pérez is absent with an ankle sprain. The setbacks have left the right side of the defence as a key selection issue.

Ezequiel Cannavo is the leading option at right-back, but his adductor fatigue is being monitored until Friday. His availability had not been confirmed in the report published by Yahoo Sports.

If Racing decides against risking Cannavo, Nazareno Colombo could return to the squad to cover the position. That possibility also remains unconfirmed.

Vojvoda is additionally considering a tactical switch to a back three comprising Mateo Martínez, Marcos Rojo and Gonzalo Escudero. The proposed formation had not been settled, leaving Racing’s final defensive structure unresolved before the match.
