PSG begin Champions League title defence with 6–1 win

Paris Saint-Germain began their Champions League title defence with a 6–1 victory over Slovan Bratislava, according to France 24 International.

Ousmane Dembélé scored twice and provided two assists, while Ferran Torres scored a hat-trick in the result reported by France 24.

The victory came after what the report described as a poor start to PSG’s domestic league campaign, giving the reigning European champions an emphatic return to continental competition.

Elsewhere, Liverpool defeated Atlético Madrid 2–1, Barcelona beat Feyenoord 5–1 and Arsenal secured a 1–0 win over Napoli, France 24 reported.

In other sporting results, Elena Rybakina reached the US Open semi-finals and was reported to be set to become world No. 1 on Monday. Matthew Brennan also claimed his fifth Vuelta stage win, becoming the youngest rider to achieve the feat.
