This project represents the first live-action television entry in the Blade Runner universe, distinct from the previously released animated series Blade Runner: Black Lotus.
The narrative is positioned 50 years after the events of the 2017 sequel film Blade Runner 2049. According to the official premise, the story takes place in a Los Angeles described as "reborn, just not by humanity." The trailer suggests a significant shift in the societal structure, where replicants have become the dominant force and humans constitute a minority. The footage also hints at a war that occurred between 2049 and the show’s timeline, setting the stage for a fragile and volatile world.
The series stars Hunter Schafer as Cora, a fugitive who assumes the identity of a Blade Runner in a final attempt to stop running.
