The Philadelphia Phillies are widely expected to finish the 2026 regular season in a National League wild-card position, according to a poll reported by Yahoo Sports and cited projections.

Only about 1 per cent of respondents reportedly backed Philadelphia to win the NL East, while the majority expected the club to qualify for the postseason as a wild card. The poll’s sample size, methodology and respondent base were not provided.

The projection remains an expectation rather than confirmation that the Phillies have secured a playoff place. A wild-card berth would nevertheless qualify Philadelphia for the MLB postseason and leave the club with a chance to compete for the championship.

Yahoo Sports highlighted the Phillies’ series against the Atlanta Braves, followed by their next series, as important to the division race. The material describes the fixtures as potentially influential in determining the NL East finish, but does not establish that they will decide the division.
