Philippe Coutinho joins Santos on deal through end of 2026
Santos Futebol Clube says the former Brazil international is its fifth signing of the current transfer window.
Santos Futebol Clube has agreed to sign midfielder Philippe Coutinho for the remainder of the 2026 season, with the club saying his contract runs until the end of the year.
The 34-year-old returns to Brazilian football after spells with Vasco da Gama, Inter Milan, Espanyol, Liverpool, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Aston Villa and Al-Duhail.
Coutinho made his professional debut for Vasco da Gama at 17. He later made 201 appearances and scored 54 goals for Liverpool, before winning two La Liga titles, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup with Barcelona.
He was part of Bayern Munich’s 2019–20 treble-winning squad and has represented Brazil 68 times, scoring 21 goals. He was also part of Brazil’s 2019 Copa América-winning team.
Santos said Coutinho is the club’s fifth signing of the current transfer window, following defensive midfielder Arthur, right-back Rodinei, midfielder Lima and forward Everton Cebolinha.
