Maxime Lopez says Paris FC would welcome any European place after consecutive wins lifted the club to second in the reported Ligue 1 standings.
Paris FC have set European qualification as their objective after a strong opening to their Ligue 1 campaign, with midfielder Maxime Lopez describing a potential Champions League place as “incredible”.
The club are reported to be second in the table after beating OGC Nice 3–0 and Olympique de Marseille 3–2. Those victories followed a 0–0 draw away to newly promoted ESTAC Troyes on the opening day.
“ The objective this season is to qualify for Europe,” Lopez told RMC Sport’s Rothen S’Enflamme programme, according to Yahoo Sports. He said the club would also welcome qualification for the Europa League or Europa Conference League.
Paris FC are in their first Ligue 1 season after returning to the top flight last season. The club are backed by the Arnault family, while manager Liam Rosenior has previous experience of qualifying for Europe with Strasbourg.
The reported second-place position is an early-season snapshot, but the results have given substance to a broader ambition. European qualification remains a target rather than a confirmed outcome.
