Paltrow reportedly planning private Hamptons dinner for OpenAI chief

Gwyneth Paltrow is reportedly organising a private, off-the-record dinner in honour of OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman. According to reports from Puck, invitations are being sent for the event, which is scheduled to take place on 29 August at Paltrow’s residence in the Hamptons.
Paltrow, best known as the founder of the wellness brand Goop, has established a significant presence in the technology sector through her investment firm, Kinship Ventures. The firm was launched in 2021 alongside Moj Mahdara and has become a notable player in the artificial intelligence landscape.
SEC filings indicate that Paltrow’s investment in OpenAI dates back to 2023. Kinship Ventures also holds stakes in other AI entities, including the vibe coding tool Lovable and the AI-powered marketing platform Nectar Social. While reports in 2023 suggested the firm was raising a $75 million fund, it remains unclear whether that fund has closed.
The reported dinner underscores Paltrow’s deepening ties to the AI industry. She has become increasingly outspoken about the sector, noting how she uses AI tools to manage her company. Additionally, her Goop Kitchen has signed a lease for the ground floor of Anthropic’s San Francisco headquarters.
OpenAI has also made moves to strengthen its connections with the entertainment and celebrity sectors. Earlier this year, the company hired Charles Porch, whom Vanity Fair described as a “celebrity whisperer.”
