OSSAA chief David Jackson to retire in 2027
Jackson will leave the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association on 30 June 2027 after more than three decades with the organisation.
Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association executive director David Jackson is scheduled to retire on 30 June 2027, at the end of the 2026–27 school year, according to an OSSAA release reported on Wednesday.
Jackson has worked for the OSSAA since 1996 and has led the organisation since 2016. His career began as an assistant director before he became associate executive director and then succeeded Ed Sheakley as executive director.
His tenure has also included national responsibilities. Jackson served a three-year term on the National Federation of State High School Associations Board of Directors and was NFHS president during the 2018–19 school year.
The OSSAA board president, Matt Holder, said Jackson’s leadership had made a lasting contribution to Oklahoma high school activities and cited his work with students, coaches, administrators and member schools.
Jackson’s planned departure is set for 30 June 2027, leaving the OSSAA to manage a leadership transition after the 2026–27 school year.
