Ole Miss rises to No. 4 in AP Top 25 after LSU win
The Rebels climbed four places after defeating LSU 32–24, while the Tigers fell to No. 10 in a poll featuring 10 SEC teams.
Ole Miss has climbed four places to No. 4 in the Week 4 Associated Press Top 25 after defeating LSU 32–24. The ranking is the Rebels’ first top-five position since they finished No. 3 in last season’s final poll.
LSU fell three places to No. 10 but remained inside the top 10. Ole Miss’s other highlighted win came against nationally ranked Louisville, which rose seven places to No. 16 after defeating SMU.
Florida entered the poll at No. 21 after beating Auburn 44–39, while Mississippi State entered at No. 24 after rallying from a 16–0 deficit to defeat South Carolina 41–34. The poll includes 10 SEC teams.
Oklahoma dropped out of the top 25 despite a 14–6 win over New Mexico. SMU fell six places to No. 22, while Houston dropped three places to No. 25 after losing 28–26 to Texas Tech.
Week 4 includes six ranked-against-ranked games. Ole Miss is scheduled to travel to No. 21 Florida, while Louisville faces continued attention after its rise in the AP poll.
