Nintendo cuts Switch prices in US sale tied to tariff refunds

Nintendo has launched a “Customer Appreciation” sale on selected Switch games and accessories in the US, with discounts available through Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and its own digital storefront.

The sale follows tariff-related refunds received from the US government, according to Nintendo and reporting by The Verge. The value and terms of the refunds have not been specified.

Selected offers include Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with its Booster Course Pass for just under US$60, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for US$49, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons with downloadable content for US$60.

The discounts also cover titles including Super Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 3, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Kirby and the Forgotten Land, as well as accessories such as Alarmo and the Switch Pro Controller. Nintendo games and accessories typically remain close to their list prices, making the reductions notable ahead of the holiday season.

Switch 2 editions are not currently discounted. Upgrade packs are listed at US$9.99 for Tears of the Kingdom and US$4.99 for Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

The sale is scheduled to end on 26 September at 8:59pm Pacific Time. Prices and availability may vary by retailer, region and time.
