Ninja enters consumer appliance market with $300 electric Artisan pizza oven
The TechCrunch-reviewed device offers preset cooking modes and rapid heating, positioning itself as a simplified alternative to propane and wood-fired ovens for the residential sector.

Ninja has launched the Artisan Outdoor Pizza Oven, an electric appliance priced at $300, designed to streamline the process of making homemade pizza. The device is positioned as a direct alternative to traditional models that require propane or wood pellets, aiming to provide a simpler, cleaner cooking experience for consumers. According to a review by TechCrunch, the oven is engineered for outdoor use only and connects to a standard outdoor electrical outlet.
The unit reaches internal temperatures of up to 700°F, capable of cooking 12-inch pizzas in approximately three minutes. It features five preset cooking settings: Neapolitan, New York, Thin Crust, Pan Pizza, and Custom. The Neapolitan mode operates at maximum heat, while the New York setting utilises lower temperatures for longer cook times, catering to different crust preferences and topping densities.
To ensure even cooking, the oven incorporates heating elements on both the top and bottom surfaces. This configuration allows pizzas to cook consistently without the need for manual rotation, flame management, or constant supervision once the user is familiar with the preset modes. A pizza stone is included in the package, though a pizza peel is sold separately.
Maintenance is described as low-effort compared to open-flame alternatives. The interior can be wiped with a damp cloth, while the porous pizza stone requires debris removal after cooling. The manufacturer advises against using soap on the stone to prevent water absorption, which could cause cracking or shattering during subsequent high-heat cycles.
The appliance is available in four colour combinations: green and gold, blue and gold, black and gold, and dark gray. While the review notes that the device produces consistent results with an airy crust and light charring, it does not replicate the authentic flavour profile of wood-fired ovens. The product is marketed towards users prioritising reliability and speed over traditional smoky taste characteristics.
