Italy coach Roberto Mancini is expected to leave nine players out of the squad for Friday’s Nations League match against France, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, as cited by Yahoo Sports. The reported omissions have not been officially confirmed in the supplied material.

The names reported are goalkeeper Massimo Pessina; defenders Diego Coppola, Daniele Ghilardi, Honest Ahanor and Eddy Kouadio; midfielders Alessandro Romano and Rolando Mandragora; and attackers Nicolo Cambiaghi and Samuele Inacio.

Italy can select 23 players from its 34-player squad. Nicolo Zaniolo and Giacomo Raspadori have already withdrawn through injury and have not been replaced.

The nine players are expected to train separately at Coverciano on Thursday, before Italy travels to Paris. The team is scheduled to face France on Friday.
