NFL reviews alleged facemask incident involving Cam Skattebo
The league is assessing footage after the Giants rookie suffered a bloody nose in a tackle against the Cowboys.
The NFL is reviewing an alleged facemask incident involving New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo after he suffered a bloody nose during the team’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Skattebo was involved in a pile-up early in the game and briefly left the field for treatment. He later returned to the contest.
No facemask penalty was called during the play. However, another camera angle appeared to show a Cowboys defender pulling Skattebo’s facemask.
The defender appeared to be Dallas defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, although the league has not announced a final finding. The NFL can refer missed calls for disciplinary review after examining game footage.
Williams could face an $11,941 fine under the league’s 2026 Fines and Appeals Schedule if the NFL confirms a first-offence facemask violation. Yahoo Sports reported that no punishment decision had been announced.
