Vikings’ 39–22 win over Packers creates first NFL score of its kind
Minnesota overturned a fourth-quarter deficit with 22 unanswered points, producing the 1,097th unique final score in league history, according to CBS Sports.
The Minnesota Vikings defeated the Green Bay Packers 39–22 in an NFL game that ended with a final score not previously recorded in the league.
Green Bay led 22–17 entering the fourth quarter, but Minnesota scored 22 unanswered points to take the match. Aaron Jones’ touchdown put the Vikings ahead 23–22 before Carson Wentz completed a two-point conversion pass to Justin Jefferson.
Minnesota then added two more fourth-quarter touchdowns to reach 39 points. Green Bay finished on 22 after Trey Smack missed an extra point in the first half, a result CBS Sports identified as contributing to the unusual score.
CBS Sports and its scorigami tracker reported the result as the 1,097th unique final score in NFL history and the second scorigami of the 2026 season. The term refers to an NFL game ending with a score that has not previously occurred.
The result came hours after Chicago’s 59–37 win over Carolina, which was also reported as a scorigami. Two such games had last occurred on the same day on 29 September 2019.
The Vikings and Packers were previously involved in a reported scorigami when Green Bay won 43–34 in Week 1 of the 2020 season.
