Minnesota beat Michigan 20–14 on 3 October to reclaim the Little Brown Jug, rallying from a 14–7 half-time deficit. The result was reported by Yahoo Sports.

Michigan took the lead after Nathaniel Staehling returned an interception of Drake Lindsey for a 79-yard touchdown. Minnesota answered with Lindsey’s three-yard touchdown pass to Darius Taylor with just under 14 minutes remaining.

The Gophers’ defence then held the lead, restricting Michigan to 11 first downs and 180 total yards. It recorded three sacks and seven tackles for loss. Michigan quarterback Bryce Underwood completed 10 of 21 passes for 101 yards and threw two interceptions.

The win was Minnesota’s first at home for the Jug since 1977. The game report also noted Minnesota’s upcoming fixtures, including matches against Purdue and Iowa, while assessing a difficult run ahead for Michigan.

Elsewhere in Week 5, Alabama beat Mississippi State 56–23. The report said Ohio State defeated Iowa and Missouri beat Florida, but its available text provides no further details of those games.
