Microsoft taps Halo nostalgia with 25th anniversary Xbox accessories
The new "Designed for Xbox" collection features limited edition peripherals in the translucent "OG Green" of the original Halo console, with pre-orders now open.

Microsoft has launched a new "Designed for Xbox" 25th Anniversary collection, offering a range of limited edition gaming accessories that pay homage to the franchise’s early history. The collection, which is available for pre-order, is defined by a translucent "OG Green" colour scheme that mirrors the distinctive casing of the original Halo special edition Xbox console.
The hardware lineup includes 25th anniversary versions of several Razer peripherals, specifically the Basilisk V3 Pro 35K mouse, the BlackWidow V4 75% gaming keyboard, and the Hammerhead V3 X HyperSpeed earbuds. These items are joined by a translucent green 8BitDo Ultimate charging dock, designed for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One controllers, as well as a GameSir X5 Lite mobile controller.
The collection also features a black PowerA sling bag, which stands out as the only non-green item in the set alongside a special edition of the Backbone Pro mobile controller. This controller follows a translucent green version released last year and is now available in clear, translucent blue, or translucent orange.
However, the Backbone Pro is sold in a blind box format, meaning buyers will not know which of the three colour options they will receive until the product is unboxed. This mechanism introduces an element of chance for consumers, as the exact probability of receiving a specific colour has not been stated.
The accessories align with the Xbox Series X 25th Anniversary limited edition console, which was announced in June at E3. While pre-orders opened on 25 August 2026, a specific release date for the accessories has not yet been provided.
