Apple reportedly developing iPhone game controllers under Beats brand
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says Apple is working on two iPhone controllers, while MacRumors has reported finding related references in macOS code.

Apple is reportedly developing two game controllers for the iPhone that could be sold under its Beats brand, according to reporting by The Verge citing Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
Beats executives are said to be leading the products’ engineering and development. Rumours of Apple entering the game-controller market have circulated for some time, but the company has not confirmed the project.
MacRumors reportedly found two references to first-party game controllers in the code for macOS 26.7. The references were found in macOS rather than iOS, and do not by themselves establish that the devices are designed for the iPhone. Gurman nevertheless links the controllers to Apple’s smartphone.
Selling the accessories under Beats could allow Apple to test a new product category at a lower price point than its premium hardware. Beats already sells some accessories for iPhone, including cases and USB-C cables.
Apple has not disclosed the controllers’ specifications, pricing, release timing or availability. The reported Beats branding also remains unconfirmed.
