Deep Silver will release free updates for Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux, adding features for modern consoles and improvements to the PC versions. The updates are scheduled for PC on 22 October and consoles on 29 October.

Console enhancements include 4K textures, platform-specific upscaling and spatial audio. The games will also support DualSense Adaptive Triggers on PlayStation and Impulse Triggers on Xbox, as well as each platform’s power saver mode.

Deep Silver says players with a compatible display can play at 4K and 60 frames per second, or at upscaled 4K and 120 frames per second.

On PC, the updates add DLSS upscaling and spatial audio, along with community bug fixes. The publisher has not detailed the fixes.

The two titles are remastered versions of the 2010 and 2013 originals, rather than remakes. Metro 2039, the next game in the series, is due on 4 February 2027.
