OpenAI has added virtual clothing try-ons and product saving to ChatGPT, extending the app’s shopping features. The update lets users generate AI images showing clothing on them and keep products in a Library.

According to Engadget, users can select “Try on” from a clothing listing in a chat, then upload a selfie and a full-body photo. They can also use screenshots of clothing, the report says.

OpenAI says the images are generated with ChatGPT Images 2.5, released in September. The previews are AI-generated; the source does not establish how accurately they represent fit or appearance.

Engadget reports that images uploaded from personal accounts may be used for model training by default unless users opt out. Users can save products they like to the app’s Library for later.

The feature joins OpenAI’s other shopping-related offerings, including Instant Checkout and merchant advertising in chats. The source does not specify the try-on feature’s availability or its commercial impact.
