Meta AI expands to Mac with system-wide dictation and business analytics
The new application integrates the Muse Spark model to offer screen-aware responses and connects directly to social media and productivity suites for enterprise users.

Meta has announced a new Mac application for Meta AI, introducing a system-wide dictation feature powered by its Muse Spark model. The tool is designed to function across all applications on the device, allowing users to dictate text in any environment. Meta noted that this capability mirrors existing third-party solutions such as Wispr Flow, Superwhisper, and Monologue, as well as a recent update to Google’s Gemini app for Mac.
Beyond basic transcription, the new app can analyse the current screen to answer contextual questions. This visual processing allows the assistant to interpret what is displayed on the user’s monitor and provide relevant responses based on that specific context. The integration of screen awareness with the Muse Spark model aims to create a more seamless interaction between the user’s workflow and the AI assistant.
The release also targets business owners with a suite of integrated tools. Merchants can connect their Instagram and Facebook accounts, along with Meta ad campaigns, directly to Meta AI. Additionally, the app supports connections to Google Workspace, including Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Slides. This connectivity enables users to query the assistant for insights on campaign performance and audience engagement metrics, helping them understand which content has been most effective.
For competitive analysis, Meta AI provides intelligence on competitors based solely on publicly available data. The assistant can also generate professional documents, including proposal decks, drafts, and spreadsheets. These features are part of a broader push by Meta to embed its AI capabilities into daily business operations, moving beyond simple chat interactions to active workflow assistance.
This launch aligns with Meta’s strategic focus on commercialising AI agents for automated support and work. During the Q2 2026 earnings call, CEO Mark Zuckerberg highlighted the significant opportunity to sell agents to businesses to automate tasks on their behalf. The company has increasingly focused on making its AI tools available for automated customer support and inquiries across its platforms, including WhatsApp and Instagram.
The move positions Meta to compete more directly with other major technology firms in the enterprise AI space. By combining dictation, screen analysis, and third-party data integration, the new Mac app serves as a central hub for both personal productivity and business intelligence.
