McTominay to miss Arsenal clash after successful heart procedure
Napoli says the Scotland midfielder will rest for two weeks after undergoing an ablation procedure for a minor heart rhythm disorder.
Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay has undergone successful surgery for a minor heart rhythm disorder and will miss Wednesday’s Champions League match against Arsenal, according to his club.
Napoli said in a statement that McTominay underwent an ablation procedure at Spire Manchester Hospital on Tuesday morning. The club described the operation as a complete success.
The 29-year-old will rest for two weeks before resuming training. His return to competitive matches has not been confirmed.
McTominay will also miss Scotland’s upcoming Nations League fixtures against Slovenia, Switzerland and North Macedonia, Napoli said. His availability for those matches remains unclear.
The midfielder joined Napoli from Manchester United in 2024 and has scored 27 goals in 82 appearances for the Italian club, according to Napoli. Al Jazeera reported that Napoli have three points from their opening three Serie A matches.
