Conor McGregor has indicated that his next appearance in the Ultimate Fighting Championship will take place during International Fight Week in 2027. The 38-year-old mixed martial artist posted on Instagram on Monday, July 27, suggesting the timing for his next bout following a recent fight on July 11.
In the post, McGregor wrote, “What was to be a generational beating is now to be reset,’’ followed by the phrase “IFW 2027 The Last Dance.’’ The abbreviation IFW refers to International Fight Week, an annual event typically held in June or July and sponsored by the UFC. The phrase “The Last Dance” is interpreted as a reference to his final fight under his current UFC contract.
Despite the proposed timeline, McGregor stated that he has not undergone surgery or begun physical rehabilitation for an injured right knee. The injury involves the ACL and meniscus. This claim comes shortly after his July 11 bout, which was described as a short-lived comeback, raising questions regarding the feasibility of the rehabilitation schedule.
Requests for comment regarding the potential fight date were directed to UFC Senior Vice President of Communications Lenee Breckenridge. Breckenridge did not respond to messages from USA TODAY Sports asking if the organisation would confirm that McGregor will fight during International Fight Week 2027.
As of now, the UFC has not officially confirmed the date. The proposed timeline remains speculative, particularly given the unverified status of McGregor’s medical treatment and the short timeframe since his last appearance in the octagon.
