Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca has praised 18-year-old winger Ryan McAidoo ahead of the club’s Carabao Cup match against Norwich, describing him as the type of player he values.

Maresca said McAidoo is willing to demand the ball and attack opponents one-on-one, rather than retreating into safer possession. The manager’s comments were reported by Yahoo Sports.

McAidoo is expected to start against Norwich after making two substitute appearances in the Premier League this season. His selection remains unconfirmed.

Academy graduates Floyd Samba and Kaden Braithwaite may also feature after being promoted to Manchester City’s first team during the summer.

Maresca described Samba as an attacking midfielder with a good finish, while saying Braithwaite could operate as either a centre-back or full-back. He also said academy graduates can feel a distinct connection to Manchester City, citing Phil Foden as an example.
