The discussions focused on Ukraine and the Middle East. France 24 reported that Macron has been seeking to persuade Trump to adopt a tougher position on Russian President Vladimir Putin and support Ukraine’s sovereignty.
Macron described the talks as “quite constructive”, but the available material does not specify Trump’s response or indicate that the US president agreed to Macron’s position.
