Liverpool squad bolstered by return of Jacquet and Araujo ahead of Como clash

Liverpool have received significant reinforcements ahead of their upcoming preseason friendlies against Italian side Como 1907, with Jeremy Jacquet and Curtis Jones returning to the squad. The news provides a boost to the Merseyside club as they prepare for back-to-back matches this Sunday, including a behind-closed-doors fixture and a ticketed encounter at Anfield.
Jacquet, the French defender signed for £60 million ($81 million), has rejoined training after being sidelined by an undisclosed concern since his arrival at the club. Although he received medical clearance in February following season-ending shoulder surgery, the 21-year-old missed the club’s preseason tour of the United States. His return positions him for a potential debut, though it remains uncertain whether he will feature in the closed-door match or the public fixture.
New signing Ronald Araujo also participated in his first training session with his teammates on Monday, following the finalisation of his loan transfer from Barcelona. The Uruguayan international’s deal includes an option for Liverpool to convert the arrangement into a permanent transfer for £47.1 million ($63.6 million) next year. The club is covering all of Araujo’s wages during the loan period.
Curtis Jones has also returned to the fold after missing the recent 3-2 defeat to AS Monaco due to a minor hip ailment. Jones, who remains a transfer target for Inter, is now available for selection as the squad looks to build momentum.
Other players available for the upcoming fixtures include Alexis Mac Allister, who rejoined the squad earlier this week following the FIFA World Cup campaign with Argentina, and new signing Victor Munoz, who experienced Anfield for the first time during the loss to Monaco.
