Leaked Google Pixel Watch 5 renders point to price hike and new finishes ahead of August launch
As Google prepares for its annual Pixel event on 12 August, new leaks detail four colour options, retained design language, and the operating system powering the upcoming device.
Unofficial renders of the Google Pixel Watch 5 have surfaced, offering a detailed look at the upcoming wearable ahead of its official unveiling on 12 August. Sourced from industry leaker OnLeaks and published via The Tide Chart, the images reveal four distinct colour variants and provide early pricing estimates that indicate a modest increase over the current model.
The leaked materials display the smartwatch in Dark Anthracite, Natural Silver, Pyrite, and Warm Gold. Each finish is paired with a specific band colour: Dark Anthracite with black, Natural Silver with pale gray, Pyrite with olive, and Warm Gold with coral. While the Warm Gold finish is currently only visible on the smaller 41mm model in the leak, it remains possible that the option will extend to the larger 45mm variant.
Aesthetically, the Pixel Watch 5 appears to maintain the design language established by its predecessor. The device retains the signature round watch face and domed display, a consistency that suggests existing watch bands will remain compatible with the new hardware. This continuity allows users to upgrade the internal specifications without needing to replace their current accessories.
Pricing data from the leak suggests a shift in the device's market positioning. The 41mm Wi-Fi model is estimated to start at $399, representing a $50 increase compared to the Pixel Watch 4. Costs are expected to rise for configurations featuring a larger display or LTE connectivity, with the top-tier launch price estimated at $529.
On the software front, the Pixel Watch 5 is expected to run Wear OS 7 upon release. While internal specifications such as chipset performance and battery life have not been detailed in the leaks, the device will likely follow the broader Pixel 11 launch strategy, with colour palettes mirroring early listings for the smartphone series.
The authenticity of these images relies on the historical accuracy of OnLeaks, though The Tide Chart is a relatively new publication with a limited track record. Final retail pricing, colour availability, and technical specifications remain subject to change until Google confirms the details at its upcoming event.
