Lazio Make Opening Bid for Fluminense Attacker – Figures Revealed
Biancocelesti face €4 million gap in negotiations for Brazilian attacker

Lazio have submitted their opening offer for Fluminense striker John Kennedy, with Italian reports indicating a bid of €8 million. The proposal follows an initial enquiry into the 23-year-old Brazilian attacker, who has recorded 14 goals and two assists in 35 appearances across all competitions this season.

Fluminense has set an asking price of €12 million, creating a significant valuation gap between the two clubs. While the Rio de Janeiro side maintains its position, the Aquile believe they can narrow the difference due to the player’s contract situation. Kennedy’s agreement with Fluminense expires in December 2027, leaving less than 18 months on his tenure.

The pursuit of a new centre-forward is a priority for manager Gennaro Gattuso, who identified a lack of offensive output as a critical issue last season. The Biancocelesti scored only 41 goals in 38 Serie A matches, with no player surpassing five goals in all competitions. This offensive struggle coincides with defensive reinforcements, as the club recently lost Mario Gila and Alessio Romagnoli.

Gianluca Di Marzio reported the specific figures of the bid sent on Wednesday. The negotiation dynamics are further complicated by the involvement of club officials Claudio Lotito and Angelo Fabiani, who have previously struggled to meet seller demands. The club recently failed to secure Jonathan Asp Jensen, who joined Deportivo La Coruña after Lazio could not match the asking price, and faces similar hurdles with Sergi Dominguez.

Potential progress in the Kennedy negotiations may be facilitated by shared representation. Il Corriere dello Sport, via La Lazio Siamo Noi, noted that Kennedy shares the same agents as former Lazio player Felipe Anderson, who departed the club in 2024. Despite these connections, the €4 million disparity remains a substantial obstacle to finalising the transfer.
