Minnesota quarterback Kyler Murray left the Vikings’ Week 1 game against Green Bay in the first quarter after a late hit while sliding.
Kyler Murray’s Minnesota Vikings debut ended in the first quarter after the quarterback was ruled out with a concussion against the Green Bay Packers.
Murray scrambled for one yard on a third-and-six play and appeared to begin his slide before Packers safety Javon Bullard made late contact from the side. Bullard was penalised for unnecessary roughness.
Murray went to the locker room after the play, and the Vikings later announced he had been ruled out with a concussion. The team did not provide a recovery timeline in the report carried by CBS Sports.
He completed three of five passes for 18 yards and threw an interception before leaving. He also rushed twice for nine yards.
Carson Wentz, Minnesota’s backup quarterback, replaced Murray. Murray joined the Vikings on a one-year contract after seven seasons with the Arizona Cardinals.
