Kyler Murray ruled out after head hit in first Vikings start
Minnesota quarterback Kyler Murray was evaluated for a possible concussion before Carson Wentz replaced him against Green Bay.
Kyler Murray’s first start for the Minnesota Vikings ended in the first quarter of their game against the Green Bay Packers after he took a hit to the head while scrambling.
Murray was struck by Packers safety Javon Bullard and remained on the ground briefly before being assessed in the blue medical tent. He then went to the locker room and was later ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Fox Sports reported that Murray was evaluated for a concussion. The report did not confirm a diagnosis or provide a recovery timeline.
Before leaving, Murray completed three of five passes for 18 yards and ran for nine yards. His first pass as a Viking was intercepted by Packers defensive back Keisean Nixon.
Carson Wentz replaced Murray as Green Bay held a 9-0 lead when the report was filed.
