Keenum starts as Williams is sidelined for Bears-Eagles game
Chicago turned to the veteran quarterback with Caleb Williams inactive because of a right hamstring injury.
Case Keenum started at quarterback for the Chicago Bears against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night, making his first regular-season appearance in almost three years. The Associated Press report carried by Yahoo Sports said coach Ben Johnson chose Keenum with Caleb Williams inactive.
Williams was sidelined with a right hamstring injury after leaving Chicago’s previous game against Minnesota. Johnson had described the 2024 draft’s No. 1 pick as week to week.
Tyson Bagent was also available for selection. The 26-year-old had returned to practice and cleared the NFL’s concussion protocol before the game.
Keenum, 38, last played in the regular season for Houston on 24 December 2023. He joined Chicago in April 2025 and was in his second season with the Bears and Johnson.
