The International Cricket Council has scheduled India and Pakistan to meet in the group stage of the 2027 Cricket World Cup on 10 October in Johannesburg. The city will also host the final on 21 November.

South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe will share hosting duties, with matches across 12 venues. The tournament opens in Cape Town on 7 October, when defending champions Australia play India, a rematch of the 2023 final.

The 12 teams are split into two groups, with Australia, India and Pakistan drawn together in Group A. Two places remain open and will be decided through qualifying tournaments.

After the group stage, the top three teams in each group and the best fourth-placed side advance to the Super 7. The top four there progress to the semi-finals.

India and Pakistan could meet again in the Super 7 or the final, depending on results and qualification.
