Jeremiah Smith sets Ohio State career records in win over Iowa

The receiver’s 57-yard touchdown catch took him past Chris Olave’s scoring mark, before he also surpassed Emeka Egbuka’s receptions record.

Jeremiah Smith set Ohio State’s career records for receiving touchdowns and receptions in the Buckeyes’ 31–14 win over No. 14 Iowa, according to CBS Sports.

Smith caught 11 passes for 206 yards and two touchdowns. His 57-yard score, his second of the game, was his 36th career receiving touchdown, moving him past Chris Olave’s previous mark of 35.

Smith later passed Emeka Egbuka’s record of 205 career receptions. CBS Sports reports Smith finished the game with 207 catches, 3,371 receiving yards and 36 touchdowns, all Ohio State records.

The 57-yard score came in Smith’s 34th game. He celebrated the record-setting catch with a Heisman pose.
