Chisholm joins Yankees teammates Trent Grisham and Giancarlo Stanton on the injured list. José Caballero and Amed Rosario have been identified as possible replacements at second base.
The 28-year-old is batting .232/.312/.403 this season, with 19 home runs, 40 stolen bases and 1.5 WAR, according to CBS Sports.
The Yankees hold the American League’s top wild-card spot and trail the Tampa Bay Rays by four games in the AL East, with 18 games remaining, the report said. Chisholm’s recovery and subsequent baseball activities will determine when he can return.
