James Rodríguez reportedly in advanced talks to join Avellino
The free agent is reportedly negotiating a move to the Serie B club coached by Alessandro Nesta, with an announcement possible in the coming days.

James Rodríguez is reportedly in advanced negotiations to join Italian Serie B club Avellino, according to Spanish reports attributed to Marca and carried by Yahoo Sports.
The reports say Rodríguez has held lengthy discussions with Avellino coach Alessandro Nesta, with the parties believed to be nearing an agreement. No completed transfer or signed deal has been confirmed.
Rodríguez is described as a free agent after leaving MLS club Minnesota United. A move to Avellino would represent his first experience in Italy after spells with Porto, Monaco, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Everton, Olympiacos and São Paulo.
Avellino have reportedly won two of their opening three matches of the 2026–27 Serie B season, with one defeat, leaving the club fifth in the early league standings.
Any announcement is considered possible in the coming days, but the reported timing remains tentative.
