Israeli raid near Nablus leaves Palestinian man dead as West Bank restrictions widen

Israeli forces reportedly shot and killed 29-year-old Abdul Karim Muhammad Salem Khader during a raid in Aqraba, south of Nablus, on Tuesday, according to Palestine’s Wafa news agency as cited by Al Jazeera.
Palestinian security sources said forces besieged Khader’s home, targeted it with an Energa anti-tank rifle grenade and used a bulldozer to demolish parts of the building. Wafa also reported that his body was withheld. The circumstances of the death could not be independently verified from the supplied reports.
An Israeli army spokesperson said the army had killed an armed man who attempted to attack soldiers, presenting a different account of the incident.
The raid was part of wider Israeli military operations reported across the occupied West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem. Wafa reported arrests in Dura and Hebron, including Fayez al-Jabari and his son, as well as former prisoners Ayoub al-Awawda and Montaser Shadid.
In the southern Hebron area, an Al Jazeera correspondent reported that home demolitions had begun in Khallit al-Dabe in Masafer Yatta. Wafa reported that Israeli forces closed entrances to Shu’fat and Anata, restricting residents’ movement.
Jerusalem Governor Adnan Ghaith described the Anata raids as part of attempts to impose a siege on northeast Jerusalem. He said ambulances were being prevented from reaching injured people, while an Al Jazeera correspondent reported that bulldozers had damaged main water lines in Anata.
